Description: An online dictionary. NOTE: This source will not suggest corrections to misspellings, but it will allow you to perform incomplete searches for words with particial spellings.

Site:OneLook Dictionary Search
Description: This dictionary contains over 7 million words gathered from 1001 different dictionary indexes.

Site:Merriam-Webster Online
Description: One of the world's most well-known dictionaries -- online! This site contains the vast majority of all definitions found in their print edition dictionaries.

Site:The Great American Heritage Dictionary, Fourth Edition
Description: Entries for the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, only from the Fourth Edition from 2000. Beware of popups, as they are plentiful here.

Site:The Oxford English Dictionary
Description: This is all about the Oxford English Dictionary. It does not contain a readily accessible list of definitions. However, you may access definitions if you subscribe to the online edition of the dictionary.

Site:The Visual Thesaurus
Description: For those who need visual assistance with the English language, this subscription-only tool is perhaps one of the most interesting to be found. By providing a web of how words connect to one another, subscribers can see the relation of terms. You can make use of a trial of the software, although it only allows you very few searches before it wants you to pay for it. Despite that, it is well worth checking out, whether or not you want to pay for it.
