Learning to spell is important. Besides learning to form letters, learning to spell is the next skill needed to write. Once one learns to spell one can write letters, book reviews, short stories, novels or whatever one wants.

It is easy to spell if one knows the keys to the phonics code. Knowing the sounds letters make, helps one spell phonetically, syllable by syllable.

 

 

ee Phonogram

Phonograms are letters that stand for a single speech sound.
Phonograms stick together. They work with each other to make one sound.

There are five "E" phonograms. They look different, but when they talk they make the same "E" sound.

The letters ee are a phonogram. They make the "E" sound.

eel, see, seem, bee, feet, agree, cheer

 

 

Using the ee Phonogram

The ee phonogram is popular. It is found in lots of words.

The ee phonogram is easy to get along with. The ee phonogram isn't picky. It can be found in the beginning, middle or the end of word.

beginning: eel, easy

middle: beet, steering

end: degree, tree
