ea Phonogram

Phonograms are letters that stand for a single speech sound.

Phonograms stick together. They work with each other to make one sound.

eat, read, meal, dream, speak

The ea phonogram is talented. When it speaks it can make three sounds. It does not make all three sounds at once. The phonogram ea makes the "E" sound most of the time.

We will only cover one of its sounds in this lesson.

 

Using ea Phonogram

The phonogram ea is popular. It is found in lots of words.

The ee phonogram isn't picky. It can be found in the beginning, middle or the end of a word.

beginning: easy, ease

middle: beat, steam

end: tea, sea
