Success For WAHM

Being a work at home mom is not the most glamorous of jobs but it could be the most fulfilling. Young children and even older ones love to have mom home during the day. So to make the family happy, how do you succeed at being a WAHM and have clients take work at home moms serious?
 

Suggestions For WAHM

Here are some suggestions for keeping the home semi professional.

1) Don't worry about the kids interrupting phone calls, it is understood that WAHMs are at home for their children. Just explain to the called that you will be right back with them if they can hold a moment, just make sure to keep the pause brief, so the caller does not get frustrated and disconnect.

2) Get used to non-continuous thought processes. As soon as a thought is there, it is gone again when a problem arises. Problems always arise when you are a WAHM. How do you remember those thoughts, right them down as soon as the thought pops up.

3) While on phone calls, promote the fact that, 'The president of the company is speaking.' People like the personal touch of speaking to the person in charge. Being personable and showing the client that their concerns are important makes them feel important and will make them come back.

4) When the kids just will not stop and there is a deadline, use the TV when the situation calls for it. Just make educational choices, then there will be no lingering guilt. Put on an age appropriate show that teaches the kids something.
